Nga Puhi, Taranaki descent.

My aim as an artist is to reproduce my environment the places I feel a connection to, places I’ve been, what I see. My focus has primarily been the urban landscape where I paint with oils in realism. I begin with photos which I work from and paint with 6 colors -Blue, Red, Yellow, White, Brown, Green. My work can take months to complete.

I constantly seek to find where I fit in amongst these places Ive photographed, and why these places resonate with me. Sometimes its the familiar, places you pass by without much thought, and other times its just the feeling. A snapshot in time, a forever changing landscape, my work provides a historical moment, where an artist meets her muse.
